Comfrey, Symphytum officinale, our keynote herb in this botanical combination, has traditionally been known as the "knit-bone" herb. Comfrey boasts anti-inflammatory action and has been used for thousands of years to address issues surrounding strained or injured tissues, joints, bruised muscles, and broken bones. 
 
Yarrow, Achillea millefolium, known as the “Heal-all” has been used as a cosmetic herb, and traditionally recalls back to ancient times when the warrior Achilles used it to staunch the blood flow in the battle wounds of his soldiers.
 
Plantain, Plantago major, is a well-known lawn "weed" that will surprise you with it's quick ability to ease pain and swelling when made into a spit-poultice and applied to insect bites and tooth abscesses. This incredibly accessible herb can be found throughout North America and Europe. It has been applied to skin issues such as ringworm, scabs, skin irritations, rashes, and wounds, and even used throughout history to stop bleeding.
 
Calendula, Calendula officinalis, has traditionally been used for wound healing, second and third degree burns, fungal infections, acne, eczema, sunburn, nappy rash, and cold sores.
